Dr. Biao Tian serves as the Scientific Review Officer for CSR’s Motor Function, Speech, and Rehabilitation Study Section. He came to this position after participating in CSR's Review Internship Program, which also included a half year rotation in the extramural program at NINDS. After receiving his Ph.D. in neurophysiology from University of Tübingen, Germany, Dr. Tian had postdoctoral training in the intramural program at NIMH. He then went to Georgetown University in Washington D.C., where he became a research assistant professor. Dr. Tian's research focused on neural mechanisms of sound processing in the auditory cortex and functional organization of auditory cortex in higher mammals, especially in non-human primates. He was also involved in several human brain neuroimaging studies.
