In 1991, Dr. Bill Bunnag became a Scientific Review Officer (SRO) for the NIH Division of Research Grants, which is now CSR. He currently serves as the SRO of the CSR's Biomedical Computing and Health Informatics Study Section, Division of Clinical and Population-based Studies. Dr. Bunnag also has served as a Referral Officer in the CSR's Division of Receipt and Referral since 2000. He received his B.S. in 1965, M.S. in 1968, M.Phil. in 1971, and Ph.D. in 1973, from George Washington University. Dr. Bunnag joined the National Cancer Institute in 1974 as the Executive Secretary of the Committee on Cytology Automation, Division of Cancer Biology and Diagnosis, advancing to Chief of DCBD's Pathology-Cytology Automation Section, and Executive Secretary of the Diagnosis Research Advisory Group. In 1984, he moved to NCI's Division of Cancer Control and Prevention, where he was Program Director for extramural activities. In 1988, he became a Program Director in the Cancer Training Branch, before moving to NCI's Office of Technology Development to help implement the Federal Technology Transfer Act. He moved to the National Center for Research Resources in 1990 and served as a Health Scientist Administrator. Dr. Bunnag served as President of the Sigma Xi, G.W.U. Chapter, Chairman of the NIH Asian and Pacific Islander Employment Committee, President of the NIH Asian and Pacific Islander American Organization, and currently serves as CSR representative to Trans-Agency Complementary and Alternative Medicine Coordinating Committee.
