Dr. Elisabeth Koss is the Scientific Review Officer for CSR's Behavioral Genetics and Epidemiology Study Section. After obtaining a License en Sciences Psychologiques et Pedagogiques from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium, she received her Ph.D. in psychology/neuropsychology from the City University of New York. She first came to NIH as a senior staff fellow in the Laboratory of Neuroscience at the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and went on to serve as project officer and NIH liaison for the World Health Organization Special Program for Research on Aging before joining the faculty at Case Western Reserve University. There, she studied the neuropsychology of perception, cognition, and behavior in healthy aging and age-related dementias, with a special interest in Alzheimer's disease. She returned to NIH to be assistant director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Centers program at NIA for four years before joining CSR. Dr. Koss is a fellow of the American Psychological Association.
