Dr. Hilary D. Sigmon is the Scientific Review Officer (SRO) of the AIDS, Clinical Studies and Epidemiology study section. She was the SRO of the International Collaborative Programs and administered site visit reviews in Haiti, Russia, China and Uganda for AIDS, malaria and TB research training programs. Prior to coming to CSR, she was a program director of basic science and physiology extramural programs at the National Institute of Nursing Research. Degrees include a Ph.D. in physiology from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), an MSN from Catholic University, a BA in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and an RN from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing. Her postdoctoral training in gluconeogenesis was conducted at Walter Reed Medical Center and USUHS. Sigmon was the chief flight nurse and nursing director of the Washington Hospital Center’s medical shock-trauma acute resuscitation unit and an assistant director of clinical nursing at Johns Hopkins University Hospital.
