Dr. James Li is the Scientific Review Officer for the study section relating to high throughput assays and drug development (NIH-RAID) within Bioengineering Sciences and Technologies Integrated Review Group. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1992, he started his professional career as a senior medicinal chemist in pharmaceutical industry working in preclinical drug discovery programs involving pain management, anti-inflammatory, frailty prevention, diabetes and obesity. Over the years, Dr. Li published over 25 peer-reviewed publications and was also the inventor of 27 issued U.S. patents as well as 8 pending patent applications.
