Dr. Raya Mandler is the Scientific Review Officer of the Molecular and Integrative Signal Transduction (MIST) Study Section. She started working at CSR in 2003 through the Internship Training program. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Mandler was a senior research associate at the National Cancer Institute for 8 years, where she worked on oncogenic signaling of protein tyrosine kinases; immunological approaches for targeting anti-cancer drugs; and metastasis, cellular invasion and angiogenesis processes. Dr. Mandler received her M.Sc in immunology from the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel; and her Ph.D in physiology and pathology from the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, Maryland. At CSR< she coordinates review panels in signal transduction as well as special emphasis panels that cover broad cell biology topics, including functions of the extracellular matrix and pathological processes involved in aging. She also coordinates reviews of small business initiatives.
